Week 9- Multimedia on the Internet [Intelligence Amplification (IA)-with augmented reality]

Talking about IA… I watched a movie and fell in LOVE with the movie! The movie is… …
BIGHERO
my BAYMAX!

I am not going into the storyline but the IA in the movie. Baymax(IA) is a personal programmed healthcare nurse robot which is designed to improve healthcare of people. Baymax is instantly activated by the sound of distress, and can only deactivate once his current patient states "I am satisfied with my care".

1.  Do what a nurse or a doctor does
Diagnosis
Rating for pain

3. Do what a human do: other than Navigate its way / Avoid obstacles; basically move around
Give hugs
Differentiate between lies and truth

4. Do what a medical machine can do
Simple scan with massive information
Defibs

However, with such advancement of technology, things can turn ugly. Hiro transform Baymax to a killer. MISUSE OF TECHNOLOGY.

One huge concern that we have! IA can be very useful but when we start using it for the bad cause, it will harm us. However, I feel that the advantages will outweigh the disadvantages of IA. Imagine if we all have a Baymax at our side, taking care of our health and giving advices to keep a healthy lifestyle, we will have a better health status.

Other than the movie (future technology), I am going to introduce the augmented reality in the market.

1. AR Cinema (For entertainment)

This app allows you watch a movie scene that is filmed right at where you are standing.

2. Augmented Reality for National Geographic Channel (For educational)

3. Mirror with augmented reality (Informative) Personal calendar events, information search……

Technology keeps on improving; what used to be in our imagination and dreams is slowly coming to life. With such convenience and “cool” factors (bringing out life to another level), I really look forward to what technology can bring us! But at the same time worrying about the consequences we had to face with the advancement.
